      The reason the can gets cold after being used is due to a process known as adiabatic cooling, a property of thermodynamics. A gas, initially at high pressure, cools significantly when that pressure is released.

      The reason the canned air is cold is due to a thermodynamic principle called the Joule-Thomson Effect. Basically, the canned air is sitting at room temperature at high pressure. The air inside has a certain amount of thermal energy. When the gas is released it expands, and that thermal energy is suddenly spread out over a much larger area, causing the temperature of the released air to drop. Think of it like taking a stick of butter, and spreading it out over an enormous piece of toast. That liquid on the chocolate may have just been condensation from the air, i.e. water. It's still not a good idea to use it though, many canned air products contain bitter additives designed to discourage people from using them as harmful inhalants.

                    you could put lots of them on the scale and then just divide the weight by the amount, the air is cold because it was pressurized, you can get it even colder by using it upside down

                              I'm currently stuck in bed because of a nasty flu so I have lots of time to binge watch this series. And the one thing that always stands out to me is Claire's seemingly never ending patience and diligence. She tries stuff out maybe ten times over the course of several days just to get it right. I might try something one time, if I'm in a good mood maybe two times. But when the second try fails you can be sure to find me cussing somewhere, chugging everything in the trash whilst saying: "alright, obviously I'm a useless idiot who should not be allowed in the kitchen". So kudos to you, Ms. Saffitz. You are absolutely brilliant. 👏

                                              Wow. Will never make this but I appreciate the grown up version for a Reese's remake. Probably do the easier version with store bought peanut butter if I ever attempted peanut butter cups. But I thinks this less sweet attempt is appealing. GJ.

                                                    All y'all needed to do for the scale was go to a local smoke shop and buy a weed scale. Some weigh down to the hundredths of a gram and a good one should only set u back between $30-$40

                                                                    If anybody happens to care, the reason canned air is cold is something called the Joule-Thomson effect. Most gases that are under pressure and expand quickly, like air leaving a bottle of canned air, drop in temperature.

                                                                            7:50 This is actually very interesting! The reason canned air comes out cold is that canned air isn't actually air. It's a gas that, when pressurized, becomes a liquid in the can. When you spray it, it becomes a gas again; and just like water needs heat to become steam, this liquid draws in heat from the air around the can while it's turning into a gas. So it isn't actually cold itself, but it cools the air around it.
                                                                            When you hold it upside down when spraying (which the label should tell you not to do) you're spraying out the liquid directly, instead of it turning into a gas in the top of the can.
